The FeesMustFall initiative has helped a lot of students,if students did not stick together and fight the FeesMustFall syndicate a lot of students would be owing their respective universities registration fee for the year 2016 whereas most students would be out of a tertiary education and out of funding .As students we need to thank those students who were brave enough to go to the marches and fight for their financial freedom and stability towards the financial year in the year 2016. The below attachment shows a video of the University of Johannesburg students who where also joining the FeesMustFall campaign in order for them to support their neighboring universities and also share their opinion and stop what would also happen to them during the 2016 financial year.Social media has reached a vast audience we are updated on the happenings around the country as Public Relations Practitioners we use Social media to gather lots of information about FessMustFall and how Universities around the country have responded.In A lot of cases we have seen information trending about how students and parents where protesting in certain provinces of South Africa and how furious Most of these students were because some of them use cash and cannot afford to pay their tertiary fees if they keep increasing each year.

Wits Vice Chancellor Professor Adam Habib states he's agreement about the FeesMustFall Movement.Social action was achieved in seven days of the feesmustfall movement that had spread nationwide through South African university campuses .the wits vice chancellor Professor Adam Habib agrees with the feesmustfall movement he states that"the government has been complacent about the significantly underforced education sector.

This a very revolutionary step which was taken by the students that marched. Fees have not fallen, they have not gone up, we need to do more as the youth of South Africa.
ReplyDeleteI agree that fees have not fully fallen but the movement has helped students in the 2016 financial year to at least be able to register and be able to stay in school.
DeleteThe student have spoken and the country has listened... Yes not all demands were meant. But at least they got the countrys attention on what was standing on their way to getting the education that they deserve. A lot still needs to be done. It doesn't take 1 day for change to happen. But one day the students efforts will pay off... FREE education or well subsidised education for all

DeleteIndeed the movement helped a lot of us, though there are still students who were not allocated the bursaries.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and informative piece indeed... I think the foundation has been laid for us students to initiate another movement that will revolutionize the whole South African educational system. My suggestion is that we start a movement called #BursaryAllocationsMustIncrease, while this movement will not be completely perfect at least many students won't have to worry about paying for expensive university fees with a limited bursary allocated to them, because it is crystal clear that fees in South African Universities will not completely fall, it is better to tackle this problem from a different angle. #MyThoughts
